Thank you for the kindness of y...Dear Brother,

Thank you for the kindness of your words respecting the honest folks at the ACELC trying to address error in our Synod and doing our very best to be supportive of the good work being proposed by our newly elected President-elect, Matthew Harrison.

We were quite surprised at the dishonest mischaracterization of the ACELC in the Affirm piece. To say the least, their evaluation was grossly inaccurate and hurtful. Having served the Steering Committee of the group now forming the ACELC for a year now, (Our first meeting was one year ago today), I can tell you that I have never worked with a more honorable group of men and women in my entire ministry within the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod...and I've worked with other very honorable and excellent groups!

We desperately want to heal our Synod and to RESOLVE the synodical issues which are dividing our Synod rather than just keep talking them to death. It is our prayer that President-elect Harrison will find our work not only helpful but also use our work to further the work of his "Koinonia Project" for bringing about unity in The LCMS.

I would urge all who read this blog to carefully examine the Letter of Fraternal Admonition which the ACELC has been sent to every congregation in the Synod and to do so without reading into what we have said more than we expressed. We believe that any honest reading of our documents either in the letter or on-line at: http://www.acelc.net will find a spirit of churchmanship which is second to none and a concern for God's Word and our Confessions which honors the Church.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36844069.post-91510375854056400152010-08-05T21:07:42.208-07:002010-08-05T21:07:42.208-07:00It was hilarious to see Affirm say that the ACELC ...It was hilarious to see Affirm say that the ACELC would be to Harrison what Consensus was to Barry. Apparently, Matt Harrison died a year ago and we didn't know it, as Consensus wasn't formed until the year after Al Barry died.

Rev.
